Life in the fat lane

So on the 13th of this month, I set up a doctor appt. I normally don't bother. Seems you are never sick until you go to the doctor. However, my BP was 179/107 so I felt the need to get it checked. Lo and behold I'm on B/P meds now. He took blood and now I'm on statins and metformin. I will do whatever it takes to get off these meds.

Since that date, I cut out my beloved sweet tea for water. I've cut out a great deal of starches. I did however make indian tacos last night and I already regret it.

I'm finding that bread is the hardest part for me. I've got over to Daves Killer Bread. and Orowheat whole wheat bread. However, those are still carbs and I need to try for 1 slice a week or something. Those are lots of fiber, I need to find it in other places.  Luckily I like beans berries and Avacodo!

Because of Insulin Resistance, I've come to the conclusion that I need at least 50 grams of fiber each day to help balance my sugar levels.

I can say since I started this journey on the 13th I've lost 3lbs. May not seem like much to some. But for me each of those pounds is a step in the right direction!

Take my time and be patient!

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12.
